This may disappoint some people but Nick.S from the CMM forum who works for Sony BMG UK (a very a reliable source, so this could possibly be true) has said that Christina is currently working on releasing a Greatest Hits album. She may also be working on some new tracks for her next studio album, but im guessing we shouldnt get our hopes up for it to be released in autumn as rumoured. After all, Christina never actually said that herself did she? So heres what Nick.S said:

Sorry guys, but just thought I should let you know that the next album is probably not going to be released very soon. She has a Greatest Hits coming first and that will have to be worked through before the new album is released.

Like Tim Armstrong and Pink, Gwen Stefani and the Neptunes, and many other seemingly mismatched musical pairings, Sia and Christina Aguilera will join forces, with Sia lending her songwriting skills — and buckets of much-needed depth, humanity, and indie cred — to the soulful pop diva’s forthcoming record.

“I’m going to write with Christina Aguilera in mid-September for her next album,” Sia told SPIN.com in a video interview (which you can see here in the coming days) at Philadelphia’s Download 2008 this past weekend. “It might not work, she might not like any of the stuff I write, and it may not make the cut, but I’m pretty excited about it — I think she’s rad!”

Sia, who is also slowly constructing the follow up to her 2008 album Some People Have Real Problems, says she and Aguilera have yet to meet, but have talked about the collaboration over the phone, and that, “She was like, ‘I’m into you and I’m interested to step into your world,’ and I was like ‘Cool!’” Indeed!

Sia and Aguilera’s reps did not return requests for comment by press time.

Capisco. Cmq a me piace e molto Christina . Sono cresciuto anche con le sue canzoni e la considero come una della voci più belle del panorama musicale odierno.Tranquillo che mi ritroverai.Ti saluto

September 19th is the set release date of Christina Aguilera's new single!

It is not known if the new album is new material, or a Greatest Hits. A Greatest Hits album was scheduled, but that was earlier in the year, and SonyBMG Australia cannot say any other info other than this.

In related news, Christina, along with John Legend, Josh Groban and the Jonas Bros. all debuted new songs at Targets special event. She told the audience that they were the first to hear them.

Looks like we have a new Christina album before the end of 2008!

According to CDJapan, Christina will be releasing a new album on Greatest Hits on November 12, 2008. Below are the description:

Greatest hits album release from Christina Aguilera featuring new songs “Keep Getting Better,” “Dynamite,” and more. Limited Edition includes bonus DVD with music videos and more (subject to change.) *Unless otherwise indicated, DVDs are region-2 encoded (Japan, Europe, and Middle East), and carry no subtitles.
