Chi di voi ascolta con una certa periodicità le radio italiane saprà sicuramente chi è Dua Lipa. Nuova leva britannica da noi individuata quando ancora qua in Italia erano ben pochi a conoscerla (qua le prove), la ragazza proprio con il singolo da noi individuato è letteralmente esplosa qui in Italia, al punto da costituire per svariato tempo una presenza fissa nella top 10 di iTunes Italia e di essersi spinta fino alla no.3 della classifica ufficiale, il tutto mentre scalava le charts di quasi tutta l’Europa, imponendosi esattamente in 9 top 10 ed altre 2 top 20.
Per motivi inspiegabili, l’unico mercato europeo di rilievo in cui la ragazza non ha ancora conosciuto il successo è proprio il Regno Unito, ossia la sua patria, e questo nonostante il favore di BBC Radio. In ogni caso, mentre la sua prima hit continua a macinare copie su copie, la ragazza tempo fa ha annunciato un nuovo singolo, probabilmente proprio il brano con sperava di poter esplodere anche nella crudele terra natia.
La canzone si intitola “Hotter Than Hell”, un titolo che ci lascia immaginare un’atmosfera sexy e conturbante, perfetta per una ex modella come lei. Dua non nasconde la sua bellezza anche nel video ufficiale che accompagna la traccia. Ecco la copertina del singolo.

La canzone è un bel pezzo dalle forti influenze garage contraddistinto da un ritmo forte ed incisivo, che dopo un inizio pacato esplode deciso nel ritornello. Un ottimo utilizzo della timbrica da parte della Lipa, che riesce a rendere inconfondibile il suo stile in questa traccia. Si tratta di forse della sua canzone più potente fra quelle rilasciate finora.
Il video mostra una bellissima Dua posare in un ambiente oscuro e tetro per un set fotografico. Una trama non molto originale, ma un video che convince anche per la potenza della canzone. Ottimo lavoro!
