Austin Mahone sembra voler tastare il terreno per bene prima di tornare in scena con il nuovo album, un progetto attesissimo dal fanbase dato che quello nella pratica è il suo album di debutto, “The Secret”, è stato venduto come EP nonostante la lunghezza quasi uguale a quella di un album e, successivamente, quello che doveva essere l’album successivo alla release del singolo “Dirty Work” è stato edito online come semplice mixtape (QUI per ascoltarlo).
Qualche settimana fa il bel ragazzo ci aveva fatto ascoltare prima la bellissima “Send It” (QUI per ascoltarla) d, dopo poche ore aveva pubblicato anche una seconda canzone, anche questa non un lead single per il prossimo progetto ma un semplice brano pubblicato dall’artista negli store senza alcuna finalità esplicitamente definita. Il brano si intitola “Way Up” ed è una mid tempo non scanzonata come la precedente ma più incalzante, potente, con una produzione molto attuale, ben ricca di suoni ed un mix capace di creare un’atmosfera corposa e travolgente.
L’interpretazione di Austin questa volta oltre che il bel timbro mette in luce anche una buona estensione ed una forte solidità nel suo strumento. Ottimo, come sempre, l’uso del falsetto, per quanto non abbia un’importanza primaria. Peccato solo per la breve durata del brano, che non arriva nemmeno a 3 minuti. Sembra un pezzo di Chris Brown, il vibe è decisamente quello di molte canzoni di Breezy. Austin si dimostra essere un interprete molto interessante e versatile.
