Cuore e talento di Sia colpiscono ancora! L’artista si unisce a due attrici per aiutare l’associazione Abzyme Research Foundation nella campagna contro l’HIV
Una traccia la cui importanza va al di là della sua bellezza. Free Me è infatti un singolo di beneficenza scritto ed interpretato da Sia a supporto dell’associazione Abzyme Research Foundation, che da anni lotta per cercare di combattere l’HIV.
Si tratta di una ballad struggente, intensa e travolgente, in pieno stile dell’australiana, nella quale la donna canta il dolore cronico che i pazienti affetti dal virus dell’HIV soffrono. Un testo straziante che riporta in musica una delle più brutte e sottovalutate piaghe della società.
Free Me era già finita in rete nella versione demo circa sette anni fa, nel 2010, ma è da poco che la cantante ha annunciato il rilascio ufficiale del brano in qualità di colonna sonora della campagna #endHIV. Ad affiancarla due importanti donne dello spettacolo, le attrici Julianne Moore (premio Oscar nel 2015 per il film Free Alice) e Zoe Saldana (Avatar).
Entrambe sono infatti le protagoniste del video ufficiale della canzone, la Saldana nei panni di una donna incinta malata di HIV, mentre la Moore si occupa della narrazione.
L’importanza della musica è anche questa, andare a toccare tematiche delicate sapendole affrontare con tatto e raffinatezza. Da questo punto di vista Sia è una maestra assoluta ed il brano che avete ascoltato qui sopra non è altro che la conferma.
Sensibilizzare la gente su questo argomento è cosa doverosa, ben venga se a farlo sono donne, in questo caso, o uomini con un così grande riscontro mediatico. #endHIV
