Il rapper Eminem non pubblica un suo progetto discografico da un po’ di tempo, tuttavia resta nella scena musicale grazie a qualche piccola sorpresa atta a celebrare il suo glorioso passato (clicca QUI per capire a cosa di riferiamo). Non accadeva però che l’artista apparisse come featured artist in un brano altrui: l’ultima sua collaborazione con una cantante è stata quella con Gwen Stefani in “Kings Never Die” (che puoi ascoltare QUI), dopo di che abbiamo ascoltato poco altro da parte dell’artista, segno forse della sua intenzione di regalarsi un nuovo album nel 2017.
In questi giorni, tuttavia, abbiamo potuto ascoltare Eminem in “Kill For You”, una delle canzoni incluse nel nuovo album di Skylar Grey, cantautrice da sempre pupilla di Eminem che ha avuto l’opportunità di cantare il ritornello di “I Need A Doctor”, hit in cui Eminem univa il suo nome a quello di un altro grande rapper, Dr Dree. Successivamente, i due hanno collaborato nel singolo di Skylar “C’Mon Let Me Ride”, e l’MC ha continuato sempre a sostenere la cantautrice, per quanto questo non sia servito a donarle altri successi.

Si tratta di un brano dalle atmosfere piuttosto lugubre, che inizia con suoni come un temporale, portiere che sbattono, passi concitati e spari, e prosegue con una base tenue ma concitata, che invoca una lontana raffinatezza, per poi potenziarsi quando Skylar, con voce alterata, inizia a cantare. Eminem arriva verso la fine con il suo verso, e con il suo flow ed il suo timbro caratteristici riesce a dare una vera scossa alla traccia, già di per sé molto valida. Meravigliosa la parte finale, in cui l’interpretazione di Eminem si fa arrabbiata.
