Significato e curiosità su Shake It Out
“Shake It Out” è il secondo brano del gruppo indie rock britannico “Florence + The Machine” tratto dal loro album del 2011: “Ceremonials”.
Scritto da Florence Welch e dal produttore Paul Epworth, “Shake It Out” parla di come scrollarsi di dosso i duri e difficili percorsi emotivi che derivano dai problemi di salute mentale. Secondo la Welch, che ha parlato del brano con MTV nel 2011, il processo di registrazione ha rappresentato una parte importante del brano:
“Credo di essere arrivata in studio con i postumi di una sbornia, ed è stato uno di quei giorni strani in cui non sei sicuro di come nasce una canzone. Il [produttore] Paul [Epworth] aveva questi accordi all’organo, che suonavano ottimisti e tristi allo stesso tempo. E pensavo ai rimpianti, come quando ti senti bloccato in te stesso, continui a ripetere certi schemi di comportamento e vuoi tagliare quella parte di te e ripartire da te stesso. […] Quindi questa canzone era come se dicesse: “Scuotiti, le cose andranno bene”. [Perché] a volte devo scrivere canzoni per me stesso, per ricordarmi di lasciar perdere”.
